Bio

My formal violin studies began at the Hartt School of Music’s community division in Hartford Connecticut, where I received Masters Degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance & Suzuki Pedagogy, along with the Merit Scholarship. Previous to that I had earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, and was honored to be awarded the Howard Hanson Scholarship. Between these two schools, my primary teachers included Mickey Reisman, Lynn Blakeslee and Teri Einfeldt.

I later went on to teach at the Hartt School Community Division and was awarded tenure teaching in the New York Public Schools where I directed multiple orchestras and string programs.

Being half Hong Kong Chinese I had always loved the idea of getting in touch with my Chinese heritage while doing something I loved: teaching. So I came to Hong Kong in 2010 to teach at the KinderU Suzuki Music Academy - the only Suzuki Method school in Hong Kong - and I reside here to this day. Alongside my work, I have had the privilege to perform with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and have also appeared solo and in chamber groups at venues such as St John’s Cathedral, the Sheung Wan Civic Center Lecture Hall and Hong Kong City Hall.
